Balthazar de Ganay
Producer
Balthazar de Ganay is a BIFA-winning and BAFTA-nominated London-based French producer.
After a first-class honours degree in Philosophy from University College London, he joined the Paris-based company BOREALES. Working first in business affairs, Balthazar rose to the rank of producer, making documentary prime-time events for French and international television (France 2, ZDF, BBC, NHK).

In 2018, Balthazar launched LIONFISH FILMS in France with the short film The Field, directed by Sandhya Suri, which went on to win at TIFF 2018, was selected at Sundance 2019 and was nominated for a BAFTA. In 2019, alongside the production of Algiers Confidential, a four-part drama mini-series for Arte France and the ZDF, he partnered with WATCH NEXT MEDIA on a TV drama slate destined for the international market. In 2020, he signed the development of Nina & the Pig, an 8x30’ drama series for France Télévisions. It was greenlit in 2021 and aired in Q4 2022 to critical acclaim. WILD BUNCH is handling international sales.
In 2023, Balthazar moved back to the UK and produced Sandhya Suri’s debut feature Santosh alongside UK production company GOOD CHAOS LTD (Palme d’Or 2022) for BBC Film, the BFI, Arte / ZDF, the CNC and MK2. Santosh premiered in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 and represented the UK at the Oscars in 2025.

In 2025, Balthazar has boarded two UK-led international coproductions: Shalini Adnani’s Film4/BFI foreign-language debut feature alongside lead producer Sara Bonakdar, which is now in post-production, and Kornel Mundruczo’s next European feature, The Revolution According to Kamo, which he is producing for Mike Goodridge’s company, GOOD CHAOS LTD.
